I have been very busy with basketball and of course clowning a wee bit.
This block number 4.
It has a multiple of 8 ch sts.
With b, ch 42 for lower edge.
Row1-- right side--work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 4 ch,* ch 4, skip next 4 ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 ch; repeat from * 3 times more, 1 dc in each of lat 2 ch.
Row 2 --ch 3, turn, skip first dc, 1 dc in each of next 5 dc, * ch 4, skip next ch 4, 1 dc in each of next 4 dc; repeat from * 3 times more, 1 dc in next dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch.
row 3 --ch 3 , turn skip first dc, 1 dc in each of next 5 dc,* ch 2 , insert hook under both ch-4 loopes and work 1 sc, ch 2, 1dc in each of next 4 dc; repeat from * 3 times more, 1 dc in next dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch.
Row 4--ch 3, turn, skip first dc,1 dc in each of next 5 dc,* ch 4, 1 dc in each of nect 4 dc; repeat from * 3 times more, 1 dc in next dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch.
Row 5--ch 3, turn, skip first dc, 1 dc in next dc, * ch 4, skip next 4 dc, working in 2 loops of ch, work 1 dc in each next 4ch; repeat from * 3 times more, ch 4, skip next 4 dc, 1 dc in next dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch.

Row 1-- right side--work 1 dc in 5th ch from hook for first v-st, * skip 2 ch , work 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc-all in next ch for v-st; Repeat from * across ch; 11 v-sts.
Row 2--ch 4, turn, 1 dc in ch-1 space of first v-st; 1 v-st in ch 1 space of each v-st across row , end last v-st in last space; 11 v-sts. repeat row 2 until 14 rows--about 9 ins from beg.

Round 1 : Right side- With A, ch 4, join with sl st in first st to form ring, ch 3, work 2 dc in ring * ch 3 for corner, work 3 dc--a shell-- in ring; repeat from * twice more, ch 3, join with sl st in top of ch 3: 4 shells
Ch 3 at beg. of round counts as 1 dc
Round 2:- sl st in each of next 2 dc, sl st into first ch-3 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc-- all in same space for first corner, * ch 2, work 3 dc, ch 3 ,3 dc--all in next space for corner: repeat from * twice more, ch 2, join with sl st in top of first ch 3: 8, 3-dc shells.
Round 3:- sl st in each of next 2 dc, sl st in first ch 3 space, ch 3 , 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc--all in same space for first corner, * ch 2, 3 dc in next space, ch 2, work 3 dc, ch 3 , 3 dc --all in next space for corner: repeat from * twice more, ch 2, 3dc in next space, ch 2, join with sl st in top of first ch 3: 12 shells.
