Quilt shop hop 2010

Yesterday my mom and I went on quilt shop hop of 2010. We seen alot of beautiful fabric, quilts we would like to make.We hit 9 quilt shops and started out at 6 am in the morning. At 7:45 am we were in harrison , Arkansas at the first quilt shop, We went in before the store opened, first ones there.By 8:45 am we were at the shop in green forest, before it opened as well. First ones to hit that shop too. I had to argue with the shop owner, she didn`t want to sell the barn block to us, that was part of the quilt that is special to the shop hop. Those that wanted the barn block as well paid 5.00 for it. Both me and mom wanted it, We finally got it, and she printed some more of them.Then on to branson, run in to other shop hoppers.
then to joplin and carthage ( 2 in joplin and 2 in carthage), got lost, got caught in traffic jam,Our bladders were in control that is why we got lost and in a tractor trailer traffic jam lol.
Then back to springfield and ozark.
Turned in our passport in ozark , our last stop hayoooooooo.Amber ,the store owner`s, stated that we hit 9 shops and still an hour to spare for the first day and that we should win something,Told bout the trouble in green forest and she got on the phone with the owner.
I am anxouis to get the quilt done.

not snow again........

It is snowing again here in the beautiful ozark mountains, the grounds covered, wind blowing, cold outside.The snow comes and goes as fine then almost a whiteout condition. The girls probably wont have school tomorrow, I lost count on how many days they need to make up, Tomorrow is one of the make-up days....ohh the joys of winters of long ago. Which it seems like we are having this year. My poor easter lillies are up out of the ground by an inch.
I have tomorrow off ,so I will try more recipes out from the 1967 newspaper, in which still on the bread catergory, Bread smells so good coming out of the oven. The next recipe is a raisin bread.
In a couple of weeks is the spring quilt shop hop, I hope I am off, I so want the barn pattern that is gonna be available on the shop hop.My mom and I went last year 10 shops visited from Joplin,mo to Green Forest,Arkansas. It was alot of fun, even though we were tired afterwards, Most of the shops we hit were in the same day, alot of driving.I still haven`t got the quilt done from that trip, neither has mom, at least I don`t think she has. Since she has retired, she has been spending her time quilting.
