what to do on a rainy day...

What to do on a rainy old day....quilting in one option, and is what I have doing little of these past few days in the ozarks. the above picture in of the center block of the quilt I am working on, only five pieces on it so far. This center block is called Lo, the winter is past...I truly wish winter would past, but then again I wouldn`t be able to work on my quilting.
The above picture is of the block ...longing to hear from you,Alot of ribbon embroidery on this block and same painting as well on the cats.
It was alot of work doing all the flowers on this block.

One of the log cabin blocks for this quilt.

The simple part of this quilt.

This block is called Spring Serende, oh the joy of hearing the birds sing!
This is April`s block, the sky with lightning streaks in it, Oh how I hate the storms, they will soon be here again, I so love the warm weather, but not the storms.

another log cabin

Mustang Morning is this block`s name ( March). The manes and tails of the horse`s are yarn all frissed out, the pattern called for ribbon , but I thought the yarn would look better...what you think?

No ball games were played this week for my youngest ( fourth grader). So maybe she can get caught up on some sleep and don`t catch the flu that has been going around, so far this house has been lucky enough not to catch it. The youngest did feel alittle tired at last home game , but she did good at the game. Next week, only one game and it is an away game.
Another good thing to do on a rainy day...read, in which I need to do, I am on the last book of the twilght series, I so need to read it, but I think I would rather quilt. Everyone have a blessed day!

Here is a quilt...

I thought I might show my quilt that I am or rather have been working on, for over a year now. It is from the 2003 Times and squares calender from Piecemakers. I got it long time ago during one of the few quilt shop hops , my mom and I have gone on. The block above is January, in which this is about the third one I have made ( block for January.) I really like this one.

Here is the same block with the borders around it, a border of red and then a border of black. the pattern calls for plaid fabric around it, but I am doing mine alittle different

This is Febuary`s block, Chick inn.The barn is suppose to have stars on it , but I decided against it. Each block depicts barns and few animals .Alot of embroidery is done on these, I tacked down each piece on each block, then embroidery ( ribbon), So , I have done alot of work on this quilt.

In between each block is a log cabin block, this is my first log cabin. It will be between the January and Febuary block, depicting dogs and chickens in this log cabin. I have done blocks up to July, and now looking for some fabric I want on August. I will try and get the other blocks on here, that I have done. I got this pattern at the quilt shop in branson, Quilts and more quilts- I so love that store---lots of fabric.

Rainy day projects.....other ramblings

It is pouring down rain today here in the ozarks and possible storms are expect here tonight. With it raining outside it is a good time to work on some projects in which I have started, my baltimore afghan, and yes , it is still going and getting heavy with each row. I have been working on it at night, I am over half-way done with just the afghan part, when I get back to making each block design I will start posting pictures of each block again.
The quilt projects are quite a few, let`s see, their is the buck-a-block which I am doing in both colors ( mauve and white, purple and white); then the barn quilt from last years quilt shop hop ( I am embroidering it the blocks) this quilt has also fall leaf block as well, another barn quilt , in which ewach block has ribbon embroidery and applicate things on it, their is a block for each month and I am making two of them and am only on block March; a rabbit quilt that is embrodiered. I know alot of projects, I will get them done one of these days. The buck-a-block is a month by month project that my mom and I signed up for from the ozark quilt shop , sew simple. these buck-a-blocks are so simple to do and easy as well, they use thangles, in which is but half-triangles patterns. Using thangles are a easy way to half-triangles.
The shop hop barn quilt is very time-consuming as the I have to trace the barn pattern onto the fabric and then embrodery it in the colors of my choosing, I will be working on this when the youngest has the next doctor`s appointment in April, in which it will be all day appointment, she will be having a neuropysh test, she has been having trouble with comprehending after she reads a chapter book ( a book with chapters in it). This is a late effect from the chemo that she took.
Anyway I will probably be working on the other barn quilt as well, as February and March are ready for the embroidery part of the block. So I think I will get off of here and get busy with my rainy day projects
