things going here...

I am sorry about not posting for awhile...So let`s do an update...
First of all the Fan in our furnace went bad, the fan part...lucky it wasn`t on one of those really cold nights that we have had....We got the part ordered and the cost was very expensive , at least I thought....anyway, put the fan part in and it has worked fine until recently..it makes an awful racket now when we put the furnace above 65 when the motor kicks the fan blade on High....So we keep it below 60 degrees. The small heater we keep in the girls room, we keep one in there since it is on the North side of the house and to keep them warm went out or rather the oldest smelled it and unplug the thing and the outlet had Black on it. We had gotten a heater for the house to have on  until the fan blade came in for the furnace...needless to say that heater is now in the girl`s room.

the youngest decided she wanted to have some Easter Bunnies to sell for Easter...needless to say the one rabbit we had obtained during the past summer/Fall turns out to be a buck....so Two bucks for her instead of a buck and doe....A friend of ours gave us a doe so she can have some babies, am waiting on those babies to be born now...don`t know if she was bred ...she is half Checkered giant, the buck Duke is on the small side, I think, he has some lion head in him Duke is his name...she Named the doe Red Acorn....The other buck, I guess is mine now his name is Moe....

I have lost a few hens and a couple of my ducks due to the extreme cold weather....This year I am hoping to build better housing for them. I have gotten the first egg from my layers yesterday....

Basketball season is in full swing for the youngest. The first two games were cancelled due to weather. We played Ava Victory and won, then played Thornfield and won ...then Kirbyville lost that game...We had a tournament this past week and got 4th over all...I am very proud of the girls...,but I am upset at their coach...they have had hardly no practice at all...maybe 2-3 times and that is it, the boys have had practice when the girls should have been practicing for this past tournament...We could played better , if we had the practice...Last night game we missed 17 shots in the first two quarters of the game....Two games are scheduled for next week...I know we will loose on the first game....the second game will probably be cancelled due to weather.....

Since Jan. 1 I have been wanting to plant something in the garden...I have worked on expanding the garden area...I do admit I have been working on the expanded area on those nice warm teaser days

I do have a some of the beds laid out, but and have dug up quite a few roots and raked a lot of leaves in this area....
I plan on trying something new on at least one of my raised beds this year,...square foot gardening...I have seen pictures of it on Pinterest , yes, I am on there,...so many things to look at on there.
I am planning on moving more plants as well...I am gonna try and dig up a start from the lilac bush and transplant one or two to this new area ,as well as some irises and maybe a couple of the century plants that my husband hates because the tips of that plant...he hates weed eating around the bed they are it...Hopefully I can get these things done this year and am successful at them...if it ever warms up...well enough for now, thought everyone would know what has been going on around here out in blogland...Everyone have a wonderfull day!

PBR, Another loss, Cochins....

Just a few pictures from the PBR when we went last Friday night....sorry so blurry , my oldest took them with her Ipod, since I forgot my camera.....we had a fun night out to the PBR....Thanks to the American Cancer society for getting us tickets.....

My oldest played away game and won one set , then lost the two sets.....she had fun though, so that is all that counts and she got to play and had her hand on the ball a few times as well....One hit went into the crowd and she later said that embarrassed her that it went to the crowd, I told her it happens to everybody....

Saturday starts Hooping it up for the youngest...her love of basketball....Her regular season starts in January.

Just a pic of Elizabeth with Shay and Dawson enjoying this nice weather

                                                               from the garden, piƱata rose

now on to the cochins chickens

out of Bert and his ladies

                                                            Bluebeard, a blue frizzle roo

the blue one I bought this year, not good feather on feet

Belle, one of the chicks that I got with the blue hen...a hen, yay
I might put her in with Gizmo next year, not for sure yet or with Bert

sad to say this one is looking like a roo, was so hoping for a hen to put with attitude to start a blue laced red cochin project

                                               Spike, another frizzled roo

This one has some unique coloring on him, really don't know what color he is considered on what color hen would be best to put him with....

Here is an updated pic of the black one I picked up this spring as well....another roo....
Well we don't have practice today....the coach is giving the JV girls a day off, so When I go and pick up the girls from school , I might bring Cricket along....she loves to go to school with me...some might asked how I know that she wants to go ....she jumps up and she will go jump in the car when the door is open of course....she hasn`t been to school this year yet....some of the other kids have been asking about her...
Well I think that is enough for now...everyone have a wonderfull day and rest of the week.

busy,busy, busy....

It has been really busy around here.March winds are howling today.....

One more game then basketball season is over for the youngest daughter...we have had two tournaments, the first one the team got 4 th place and the second one they got 3rd place. One more game to go. The second tournament had to be rescheduled because a leak in the roof at that gym. One game was cancelled because of weather, as far as I know it will not be rescheduled.

I have been working on a new clown costume...spring themed...butterfly/flower outfit. I have been invited to twist balloons at the local Easter Egg hunt...I really don`t want to wear my apple theme costume to that...besides the school`s Easter party with the children. I am super excited about that, and so are the children. My hubby has volunteered to be my assistant so, I can do the yellow bandana trick, at least for the kindergarten class...( you go to YouTube and look up this trick or skit).
I think the children will love it...last month ..they told me the clowns do magic, so in a way the trick is like a magic trick with a twist.

I have started thinking about getting the incubator up and going as well, as soon as the chickens start laying more.
I have started downloading my cassettes( in which I have alot of them) on to the computer and gonna try and burn a cd with them on their , so I can put them on a mp3 player...
My oldest daughter has this rash of sorts , that we have been dealing with for over a year now and Friday she goes and sees a doctor again for it, hopefully we will find out something...yes ,she has been to doctor`s before with it...about 3 in fact, one was a dermatologist -but not in person, so Friday is the day....I pray we find out something and what causes it and what we can do to make it go away for good. Well  everyone have a good day!

Basketball season again...

Yes, that is right it is basketball season again for my youngest daughter. They have played two games this week. The first game they won 32-12...the game was a good game....no injuries. The younger group of kids 3 and 4 th graders won their game that night as well , it was like 40 to 0 and the 5and 6th grade boys won their game , I dont know the score of that game but the other team didn`t score except for once.
Last night`s game was lost by the girls , dont know if the boys won or not we left after my daughter played. Their was a injury to one of the girls last night to do with her ankle ...it was swelling and she was out for the last quarter of the game...my daughter sprained her finger as well...as it was hurting this morning....that group of girls we played last night was big to compared to our girls.

We might play one game next week, don`t know as of yet.

It is also girls scout cookie time again...oooh I so love girl scout cookies

Basketball...other things....

Well , my youngest got to meet the team, the certain team memeber was very nice to her....I think the young lady has changed , at least that is what I think. The next night we went to the game, they did win one game- the jv and the varsity almost won...that one was a close game. One of the team member posted on facebook that they was gonna win for their coach, theriselves and of course for my youngest...so proud, that they can think of her in that way, of course that is what the organization is for . Children committed to kids  is the name of the organization, they take children who are sick and team them up with a sports team...awesome, is all I got to say. She had a blast sitting with the team and the coach...who got very irrate...even stomping his foot a few times..but I guess that is what coaches do to get their point acroos sometimes...I have never seen it done until this game, but  oh well. I am glad her own basketball coach doesn`t do that. He does make them run at the last 10 minutes of the pratice....each child takes a free throw shot...if they miss they run the length of the gym...here lately they have running the most of the last ten minutes...they so need pratice.
We do have basketball hoop here at the house and she has been praticing with it here last the few days and she has gotten quite a few in the basket.

Wednesday, I go for my scope, I am kinda nervous and hope they find something that is causing the pain anyway and causing the feelings of food being stuck in my throat, which is happening alot lately. Last night , I took some fajita meat and brown it and chopped up a onion and few mushrooms and saute them , then put a can of rotel tomatoes and some corn and mixed in some angel hair pasta...it was good but it seemed like the fajita meat was hard to get swallow...the rest of it was good.
Well, I am gonna go and enjoy the nice weather...windy though.

Hooping it up.....

Well, The local schools hooping it up has started and the youngest is playing again. She has one more year in order to play. She is the only girl on her team, each team only has one girl....I know their is plenty of other girls that play in this area in that grade level.
Her team lost the first game, needless to say it was a close game 24-20, the other team did have a couple of taller boys on the team...I know just because they are tall don`t mean anything. The youngest did have the ball a few times and did try to shoot a couple of times, but she was a little low from the basket, she is kinda of out of pratice.

no title really at all.....

Yesterday, we went to springfield to get the girls some clothes. The oldest daughter is just so picky on jeans...they have to fit just right or she won`t wear them, the youngest could care less, we also delivered our last girl scout cookies...yay!. The oldest daughter ended up with three pairs of jeans and 3 tank-tops( she wears these under her tops), and a couple of tops. the youngest got two pairs of jeans and another donkey konk shirt ( yes, I said Donkey Konk, that makes two shirts and a hoodie of donkey konk) and a couple more for her.We did have to stop and eat at the Golden Corral....mmmmmmgooooood....they had a chocolate fountain in the dessert area and I had some strawberries dipped in chocolate, and even tried pineapple dipped in chocolate....mmmm, it was good. We also was asked if we had any money, so the young lady can get her something to eat.......we didn`t give her anything...I know bad on our part....but we did struggle here to buy what we do buy, and we do bargain shop .....needless to say I thought the young lady was dressed alittle better then we were........and she didn`t look like she had missed too many meals.....at least that is what I thought..., I might have been wrong.

Today, was my youngest daughter`s fun game and about fell over when her grandpa showed up and actually watched the game ( he has never gone to any of her games, didn`t even go to the oldest eighth grade graduation) I am glad he was there, even if he didn`t talk to her, but got to see her make a basket during the game.
After the game, I did plant some more in the garden...mostly herbs and a few flowers. I am making a herb/flower garden. Let`s see.....i planted some coneflowers, ...fennel( never planted or even eaten it for that matters),...thyme,...lillies ( that replanted from a different area),...Iris (replanted from a different area)...,.....Lavender ( love the smell, never planted it before either).., rosemary, two different kinds of basil ( lemon-lime and purple).., more marigolds, gladoius......a rose bush that I picked last year and rooted ( will be either small pink or white blooms)...I think that is it......makes me want to go out and plant more, I just love playing in the dirt.
My radishes are coming up and as well as the green onions..

well, enough for now, everyone have a good day.

Busy,Busy,Busy......

This week is gonna be alittle hectic. The youngest has got a basket ball tournment this week, a game tonight, two games tomorrow night and then one game on Thursday night. The games are about an hour away. Tonight and Thursday night games are at 5 . The first game on Tuesday at least start at 6, maybe I can fix a meal then for the girls.
Wednesday is the day when my new frig and stove are suppose to be here, they are already at the store. I just can`t wait. i have been doing alittle spring cleaning as well. My Cabinet the holds a few dishes and my hubbys rabbit cookie jar and carnival glass pitcher and glasses has been cleaned out and waiting to be moved for the frig and stove to come in, along with the freezer has to be moved, besides the old frig and the old stove has to be moved and scrub underneath before the new ones come in. The cabinet above where the frig goes is moved out as well, we will need to cut the part of the cabinet out to allow for the new one to go in, in which I think will be a task.......
Enough for now, I will try and post picture of the new appliances when they arrive.

what to do on a rainy day...

What to do on a rainy old day....quilting in one option, and is what I have doing little of these past few days in the ozarks. the above picture in of the center block of the quilt I am working on, only five pieces on it so far. This center block is called Lo, the winter is past...I truly wish winter would past, but then again I wouldn`t be able to work on my quilting.
The above picture is of the block ...longing to hear from you,Alot of ribbon embroidery on this block and same painting as well on the cats.
It was alot of work doing all the flowers on this block.

One of the log cabin blocks for this quilt.

The simple part of this quilt.

This block is called Spring Serende, oh the joy of hearing the birds sing!
This is April`s block, the sky with lightning streaks in it, Oh how I hate the storms, they will soon be here again, I so love the warm weather, but not the storms.

another log cabin

Mustang Morning is this block`s name ( March). The manes and tails of the horse`s are yarn all frissed out, the pattern called for ribbon , but I thought the yarn would look better...what you think?

No ball games were played this week for my youngest ( fourth grader). So maybe she can get caught up on some sleep and don`t catch the flu that has been going around, so far this house has been lucky enough not to catch it. The youngest did feel alittle tired at last home game , but she did good at the game. Next week, only one game and it is an away game.
Another good thing to do on a rainy day...read, in which I need to do, I am on the last book of the twilght series, I so need to read it, but I think I would rather quilt. Everyone have a blessed day!

First home game

Last night my youngest had her first home game, I am truly sorry no pic( camera `s batteries went dead). It was a rough game, which ending in being tied 14-14, she did her best and was alittle upset this morning that no one passed to her and considering she was open most of the time.
We stayed and watched the 5/6 grader girls team and we won that game, even though it went into overtime because of another tie. My youngest stated this morning that other team was playing street basketball, they kept fouling and our team was getting blamed for the foul, cause by the other team.
The boys 5/6 grade won as well.

rollercoaster....weekly ramblings......

I have been really enjoying the roller coaster weather we in the ozarks have been having...nice one day , then brrrrrr the next. I have enjoyed taking my daily walk on the nice warm days, at least I tried and have a walk every day, sometimes it doesn`t happen. I have decided to redo my raised garden beds this year, at least some of them. So , I have been pulling brush down to the roots along the fence of my garden area, hoping maybe they won`t come back up. The crazy heeler waits on the other side of the fence waiting for me to throw something , so he can go after it....lol , even small rocks. He has even played in the water , during some the walks, brrrrr

The youngest daughter was disappointed Thursday, the first home game was cancelled, she soo wanted to play, even though it was against fifth graders. The game was cancelled due to weather, school wasn`t though for the youngest, but for the oldest daughter it was cancelled. The schools are about 15-20 minutes apart.
We have two home games this coming week, I hope she does good on both those games.

first game pics

First , we need to practice of lay-ups, before game starts.

Get that ball!

Coach is telling the children on what to do! Such a good coach.

We are ready!

Get that ball!

Yahoo we did win the game, but found out later that the other team hadn`t even had any pratice to speak up. My youngest did go for a couple of baskets, but missed , I am so proud of her for getting out their and trying , of course the rest of the team as well.

Basketball season begins....other things

Tonight is the first basketball game for the third and fourth graders at school. My youngest first game in playing basketball. She is a fourth grader this year. She is so excited, couldn`t hardly go to sleep last night.

I hope we don`t have any injuries or anything like that, maybe I am just a worry wart with her. She seems to have more energy then last year, so I know that is a good thing.
Tonight`s game will be an away game, my husband will have to work , so he won`t get to see her play. Hopefully he will get see her play at least once. I will post later if her team wins later.

Then Saturday starts the annual Girl Scout cookie sells time, yummy Girl Scout cookies!!!!!!!!
