Been busy in the garden......

I have been quite busy during these nice spring days, I have put mulch on my pathways in my garden area...I got this mulch last year when southern construction came thru and asked for it they dumped a bucketful in an area that the cocoa is in, he likes to lay on the pile and sun on some days. I have been tying him out on these nice spring days and he has been enjoying the green grass.

One of my incubators is up and running with the eggs, that I saved from my own hens. The incubator will be shut down after this hatch until after our annual trip to the doctors in St Louis, then start back up again.
I do have a wide variety of chickens ,seems like

The above two picture are grape plants I snagged at a Wal-mart, they was on clearance. I plant a grape vine a few years ago, least to say it didn`t make it, It last about two years and never produced any grapes hopefully these two will do better. I did lay some mulch around them and they are planted in a different spot then the last one was,  The two below pictures are the two different kinds I planted
Both are seedless varieties.

The picture below is my bed of beans, the ramps are to prevent the chickens thinking they need to dust in the bed. I also have some onions planted in there as well. This bed frame was in a different spot last year, the boards were rotting and decided we would replace them and weatherproof them as well .On each corner I have planted pole beans, hopefully the bush beans are bush beans and not pole beans like they was last year., My youngest loves raw green beans. I also planted a package of yellow wax beans, so we will see how that goes.

The above picture is of two clothesline poles that were given to us a few years ago , when my Aunt was in the process of moving, finally got them up, Sometimes my hubby has good intentions, I put the first one up, he did help with the second one. I have planted some pole beans on one side of one of the poles and on the other some cucumbers, I would love to can some cucumbers this years, I so love fresh sliced cucumbers in vinegar during the summer, I am getting ahead of myself a little .I would like to plant a climbing rose bush in the middle of one of the post and let it climb up and over. I seen one I would like to have the other day, when I got the other one I planted, so far it is doing good. I was also thinking on planting some gourds on the other side, I have some seeds that I have saved from a few years ago from my gourds I grew. I am planning on putting a small bed on each side of the poles. I seen a miniature rose bush about the same coloring as the  climber I want the other day , of course it was a higher price rose bush, maybe Mother`s day. These  two poles will  be entrance way into the fruit area, I did replant some blackberries, that were here where the poles are now.

This is also a new bed we put up, guess what it has in it.....Bush beans and onions and my cannas from last year, hopefully I will get a lot of beans to can and of course eat, I have not covered this bed to keep chickens out, so far they have not decided to use this bed to dust in...they do like where I first put some onions at though.

I snagged the above two bulbs, I guess is what you would call them the other day as well, clearance at that Wal-Mart I visited. I looked at my local one and these were not on clearance yet, but then again they do have more of a selection on these as of yesterday .I did not grab any there, things are always better when on clearance right, at least I hope so on these plants.

I thought I throw in some my tulips blooming, these are in different areas.

While I was wondering around the yard earlier , I noticed that some of my irises are beginning on thinking of blooming, this bed I do need to thin out a bit. I forgot on what all colors I have in this bed, so I will thin out when they bloom. Their is an area in my garden area I want nothing but irises , it`s around a tree, that way I don`t have to mess with the root of the tree, I have started some planting of them.
This is just a update on the garden area, maybe this is a good topic for this blog from time to time and lets see how it progresses. Everyone have glorious day

A look around Garden ....2013

This morning , I was expecting rain or rather storms...it did rain a little this morning , but it has a been beautiful outside and guess what I have been doing....gardening. I planted the top picture rose this morning hopefully we will get some rain tonight, really don`t want storms, but if Mother Nature thinks we need a storm, then I really can`t stop her on creating one.
One of the peonies I have coming up in the yard, I am planning on transferring this one when it is fully up....it`s just not in a good place....hubby always mows it down...so need to transfer it.
I planted this peony a few days ago in my garden
                                                     its not coming up yet.

I always heard that mint can be evasive, I plant some mint here last year, Sweet, Apple and of course chocolate....the sweet mint has expanding a lot...

A look at one of the beds...yes that is a barbecue grill and a toilet in the bed.
Don`t know what will go in the grill or the toilet this year.....the toilet is a new
addition since last year....I want something I don`t have to keep planting in the toilet. I was thinking some type of day lily or mums in the bowl portion of it.....not for sure as of yet.
Another peony coming up in the yard, don`t remember what color this is, am
thinking on moving this one as well, since the bed frame garden bed has been moved.

A quick look at a couple of my tulips .

One of the mums I planted last year is coming up, I think I got these mums on
clearance last year, or it could have been when I happened on when they was
throwing them away and grabbed them.

My sweet onion patch, I am planning on planting more, if I can keep the
chickens out of the bed....they seem to think this is an excellent place to
                              dust at.

In this bed, radishes  ,lettuce( two different varieties and nasturtium and a few
onions and some garlic, first year growing it
.....a view under the grill...irises...the old purple variety

Another look at the bed with lettuce and radishes

My blackberries are all bushing out

The peach tree is all in bloom...I hope the peaches are a little bigger this year, but I think it is a wild peach tree, not for sure

my couponing score today....

Today I went shopping, I have to admit I did go to three stores. I saved a total of about 25 dollars today.
First stop was dollar general-

Got a 2-liter of coke
a package reeses peanut butter minis
wheat thins

had a coupon to save 2 on buying three of above and I got all three( got the coupon at dollar general about a week ago...was a peely)

I also got three reezits for free

Coupon was buy three and get three free...got the coupon from the dollar general website.

Saved 5.oo total there.

Then on to Walmart and I got :

3 hormel microwave dinners- coupon save 1.00 for each one.
Plus I got a frozen pretzels- coupon save .50 on one box.

I got those coupons from allyou magazine and from coupons.com

Then to our local grocery store---Town and country. They double coupons up to .50 everyday!
I got---:

Hiland ice cream, 56 oz square, on sale for 2 for 4.00----coupons for .45 off one, used 2 coupons ( hiland website is where I got the coupon)
Tony`s pizza sale 5 for 10.00 ---two coupons .75 off 2

Hiland cottage cheese- sale price 2.18 a piece---coupon .50 off 1, I had 2 coupons ( hiland website again)

Grands biscuits--sale- 3 for 4.00 --coupon- .40 on 3 ( don`t remember where I got that one at....I think sunday paper inserts)

Pillsbury crescent -sale 2 for 4.00--coupon .50 on 2...( don`t remember where for this one either)

Town and country also has a meat sale 5 for 25.00 I saved there as well..

I am very happy about the savings. Just had to brag alittle , I know 25.00 isn`t much to all those extreme couponers out there, but hey I live in a rural area and only have a limited number of stores to go to unless I plan on going to the bigger city near us , then it is a different story. Our small town only has Walmart, dollar general and of course town and country supermarket , but soon we will be having a walgreens as they bought our local drugstore , in which you can get a scoop of ice cream for .05 .
I am happy with the savings!!!!!
Everyone have a wonderfulllll day

some clowning around....

The kindergardeners at the local school made me, at least the clown part of me , some valentine`s cards....so I kn ow valentine`s day was last month, but I just got the pictures yesterday....my gifts

Here is another pic from the valentine`s party....I am handing out some Brown-E`s....I told the children they were alittle chewy....they had to try for theirselves though....I really didn`t know what to say...after all they were brown-E`s
They all loved their balloon animals.....even though they are guareteed to pop

They was explaining to me the different picture that they put on the cards....I was swinging on the swing set on one..... they all are wonderful artists in the making . They also taught me how to hula hoop,at least they tried...they said I couldn`t move just right....some of them could hula hoop pretty good.

This is my Hubby aka Mr. Skit-tales...he was a trooper and did a magic trick with me ..I have been dying to do for a while....This was tooken yesterday at the Easter Day party. He voluteered to help me do the trick...one class loved  it , but thought he was alittle weird...he didn`t know his colors when it came to the balloons . We did the yellow bandana trick....it is on youtube...I really don`t the address.....the children didn`t know what to think when he put the yellow banana in his pocket.....I wish I could have had someone tape it somehow , so I or rather we could watch it back....The teachers were also laughing so hard and love it !
These are our gifts besides the above pics a pencil holder with a pencil that needs to be sharpen and a scrap book page that says to skittles.

We had so much fun...clowning is a blast!!!!!!!

ahhhhh Spring

Sorry this pic looks little blurry, it really don`t capture the beauty.

I think these daffodils look like they are saying Hello Spring, or rather Hello sunshine

                                                                   One of pale yellows

                                                  double one

These ones have not bloomed since we lived here...looks like they will be double ones...so excited. I think after they get done blooming I will replanted them in a better location. Looks like they were planted in front of the house that used to be here. I am planning on replanting my peony s as well...so my hubby wont mow them down. I have radishes and green onions planted as well as garlic( first time planting this).
When I was outside taking these photos...cocoa the mini had to see what I was doing
he tried and got his nose in it

The above sign is one of oldest drew out. I have been invited to do balloons in clown the local Easter Egg hunt...I so Eggcited about it. I have also been invited to do another event this summer in clown.

busy,busy, busy....

It has been really busy around here.March winds are howling today.....

One more game then basketball season is over for the youngest daughter...we have had two tournaments, the first one the team got 4 th place and the second one they got 3rd place. One more game to go. The second tournament had to be rescheduled because a leak in the roof at that gym. One game was cancelled because of weather, as far as I know it will not be rescheduled.

I have been working on a new clown costume...spring themed...butterfly/flower outfit. I have been invited to twist balloons at the local Easter Egg hunt...I really don`t want to wear my apple theme costume to that...besides the school`s Easter party with the children. I am super excited about that, and so are the children. My hubby has volunteered to be my assistant so, I can do the yellow bandana trick, at least for the kindergarten class...( you go to YouTube and look up this trick or skit).
I think the children will love it...last month ..they told me the clowns do magic, so in a way the trick is like a magic trick with a twist.

I have started thinking about getting the incubator up and going as well, as soon as the chickens start laying more.
I have started downloading my cassettes( in which I have alot of them) on to the computer and gonna try and burn a cd with them on their , so I can put them on a mp3 player...
My oldest daughter has this rash of sorts , that we have been dealing with for over a year now and Friday she goes and sees a doctor again for it, hopefully we will find out something...yes ,she has been to doctor`s before with it...about 3 in fact, one was a dermatologist -but not in person, so Friday is the day....I pray we find out something and what causes it and what we can do to make it go away for good. Well  everyone have a good day!
