First off gardening....
Hubby is tired of these irises being in the main yard, he mowed them down, ....weeds were in them badly, so they are being moved, can you guess where?
The irises will be moved to this long bed, at least I hope they will all fit here, if not they will put around the garden area.....
It has been rough digging in this dirt with all the rocks,...and yes I am picking them out at least the big ones....we so need rain badly . it has been hard digging in the heat....summer has come back with a vengeance here in the Ozarks...I have been digging in the morning and evening some when the oldest doesn`t have practice anyway...
I have pulled up the green beans that were planted here as well as the tomato plants,...like I said we need rain....the ramps that were over t his bed has been sold at a swap meet, hubby didn`t think he needed them anymore , since he has a trailer....I will have to figure out something to put over this bed in the spring....still some time away....this bed will stay a vegetable bed of sorts, I am thinking.
This is the only beans I have left in the garden, still blooming and need picking as well, but I have enough beans in the freezer for the time being, might pick them and give to the chickens.
A look at one of the bed, just with a couple of tomato plants that don`t look that great
the cucumbers have not been very productive this year.
Just a glance of a pretty rose
Watermelon and marigolds,...they are still blooming
now on to the birds....
My new chickens I picked up during that swap meet, I know I had to trade my two old English game hens for these two....I hate to see the two little hens go,...but I didn`t have a roo for them and I wanted to increase my cochins this year....love my cochins, this barred roo hopefully will produce me some buff barred babies next spring, have not named him yet.....don`t know as of yet who I am putting the little white hen with , have named her white rose....maybe I can find a white roo for her between now and spring.
Now some Muscovy.....
shay/tiny...tiny was her original name
Dawson with momma Elizabeth
Boss just hanging out....
ok, Lillie is this one`s name....
not a very good picture of little mary, but a picture none the less.....
Now on to the soap box of sorts.....
My oldest is playing volleyball this year for the first time...yes she is a junior, but do not realize that she like volleyball until last year. My problem is her not getting to play...what ever happened to the pure love of a sport game you are playing....I know we have not had a game as of yet, the first one is tonight....of course she is not playing the other girls that played on the team last year plus two extras which is their first year playing as well and they are freshmen. you would think since my daughter is a junior she would have a little more seniority then these other two girls, I guess not......One of these girls did not play in elementary school either, I guess the coaches think they are better players....
Hopefully she will get to play some in the other two games she has this week....but as a new player on the team ....probably not...we will see....just my two cents worth...high school sports seems like it just for winning anymore, not for just playing and having fun like in elementary.
I am gonna go work on my quilt for now....everyone have a enjoyable day!
This farm is located in the beautifull Ozarks.Where chickens and ducks roam. I will tell of my family , which include 2 daughters and 1 husband plus the animal variety ;which include chickens, ducks, dogs, cats ,and whatever else comes up, I will also tell about my gardening

Summer is winding down....
Not much happening here on the farm . The garden is winding down , after all that rain the squash is no more as u can see from below picture. I pulled it up and put in compost area.
The beans and the Cherry tomatoes are still producing.....I go out about every other day and pick almost a bucket full of both...love those cherry tomatoes and green beans. I have been snapping them and putting in the freezer, am planning on canning a few of them for this fall, hopefully I will get to them next week, it`s been busy around here lately.
I finally figured out what I wanted in my toilet ....mums...local store finally had this morning when went to town and pick these up....I think they will fill up nicely next year, I know they will be fall color, But it will be very pretty.
The mums I got last year, are starting to bloom.
Now lets look at the marigolds!
I am thinking that the bottom cannas will not be planted in this place next year unless I make the bed deeper then it is this year....something to work on.
Just one of the surprise lilies that I have coming up this year
Elizabeth hatched out 17 babies, different colors
I hatched this out of the incubator, a wee little cochin mix chick. After the next bunch , only cochins hatch this bator will be put up for the winter....I hate to do it, but I will have hard time keeping the little chicks warm, not to say we won`t be having more babies here....I have two ducks setting and another one starting to lay again to hatch out....

Finally got a glass bottle in the cooler planter, hoping to find a few more.
Now I think I need to find an old sink or tub for the garden, yes, just an old hillbilly garden here, lol.
Now on to a few animals

Little Miss Mary was just wanting her picture taken, boy has she grown since the last pic.
School has started here , both girls are in school, different schools. I am glad they started on the same day. The youngest always gets a little upset when the oldest doesn`t go for a few days.
The oldest is playing volleyball this year, can`t believe she is a junior this year, whew where has the time gone .Practice has started and is every day, she is so sore from the practice....am looking forward to her games...she is not my athletic one.......
Everyone have a beautiful day!
