First Block

Here is a phot of the first block. No. 1 NOTE: All rounds are worked from right side. Round 1 : Right side- With A, ch 4, join with sl st in first st to form ring, ch 3, work 2 dc in ring * ch 3 for corner, work 3 dc--a shell-- in ring; repeat from * twice more, ch 3, join with sl st in top of ch 3: 4 shells Ch 3 at beg. of round counts as 1 dc Round 2:- sl st in each of next 2 dc, sl st into first ch-3 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc-- all in same space for first corner, * ch 2, work 3 dc, ch 3 ,3 dc--all in next space for corner: repeat from * twice more, ch 2, join with sl st in top of first ch 3: 8, 3-dc shells. Round 3:- sl st in each of next 2 dc, sl st in first ch 3 space, ch 3 , 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc--all in same space for first corner, * ch 2, 3 dc in next space, ch 2, work 3 dc, ch 3 , 3 dc --all in next space for corner: repeat from * twice more, ch 2, 3dc in next space, ch 2, join with sl st in top of first ch 3: 12 shells. Rounds 4 : -Sl st in each of next 2 dc, sl st into firast ch 3 space, ch 3 , 2dc, ch 3, 3 dc--all in same space for first corner$ * ch 2, 3 dc in next space *: repeat betweens *`s once more, work ch 2, 3 dc, ch 3, 3dc--all in next corner space; repeat from $ twice more; repeat between *`s twice, ch 2 join as before; 16 shells. Continue in this way having 1 more shell between corners in ewach successive round until 8 rounds from beg., ending with last round join with sl st in top of ch 3; 32 shells. About 9 ins squares. Fasten off.
