not snow again........

It is snowing again here in the beautiful ozark mountains, the grounds covered, wind blowing, cold outside. The snow comes and goes as fine then almost a whiteout condition. The girls probably wont have school tomorrow, I lost count on how many days they need to make up, Tomorrow is one of the make-up days....ohh the joys of winters of long ago. Which it seems like we are having this year. My poor easter lillies are up out of the ground by an inch.
I have tomorrow off ,so I will try more recipes out from the 1967 newspaper, in which still on the bread catergory, Bread smells so good coming out of the oven. The next recipe is a raisin bread.
In a couple of weeks is the spring quilt shop hop, I hope I am off, I so want the barn pattern that is gonna be available on the shop hop.My mom and I went last year 10 shops visited from Joplin,mo to Green Forest,Arkansas. It was alot of fun, even though we were tired afterwards, Most of the shops we hit were in the same day, alot of driving.I still haven`t got the quilt done from that trip, neither has mom, at least I don`t think she has. Since she has retired, she has been spending her time quilting.

winter, winter...does it come to a end

We had snow for the last couple of days here, It didn`t stick to the ground thank goodness for that. It looked so beautiful coming down, nice big flakes.
Monday night ,I had fun unfreezing my door at work, It had sleeted while I was working, I finally got it unfroze after 30 minutes of trying , the passenger side instead of the drivers side. So I got to crawl thru the passengers side to get in and out of the car, the back doors were also froze shut. To get a door unfroze pour warm water over it several times.... in case anyone needs to know this is how I ,with some help from coworkers got the passengers side door unfroze.....The next night one of the coworkers asked if I needed any help getting into my car ...hahahah...I told him not tonight it hadn`t sleeted.

I have decided not to save eggs for the incubator , until this crazy missouri weather decides it is no longer winter time.

where is the sun

ok I know it is still february, but where oh where is the sun.I thought we were suppose to have partly sunny day today and no snow,Flurries are coming down.wind is blowing snow everywhere. I figured when we bout got all of the last snow off the ground we would be hit by another snowfall, at least it wasn`t as bad as washington dc has.
Walmart has berry plants in, don`t they know this is not the time of the year to be planting , I hope they still have some left when it is time to plant them though,I would like to have a couple of rows of blackberries and blueberries in my garden area.My hands are just wanting to play in the dirt and plant things.....if this missouri weather would just cooperate, I would be ok.
The girls are gonna have a few days to make up for school, since all of the snow days they have gotten, they will probably be going until June.Right now they are playing their playstation games. The youngest has bronchitis, so I am restricting her from going outside in the windy weather. My husband told me that yesterday ,she fell in the kitchen,I am thinking this is a late effect from the chemo she has had, and this might prevent her from playing basketball next year.I have decided to ask her doctors in st louis and see what they think about her playing.I so hope she can play alittle bit, since that is what she wanting to do, even though sometimes she tires out easily. We will have to wait and see if she gets to play, maybe she will change her mind.

snow

well we have a total of 6 1/2 inches of snow, we had 3 1/2 yesterday when I check the rain guage. There was another 3 inches this morning.I feel so sorry for Zilla, a hen that is loose, she sure is high stepping in this snow.....when she walks around in it....Her name is godizilla ,zilla for short. I know godzilla was a boy,but she lives up to her name, she is mean towards other hens. When she notices another hen,or for that matter another chicken is loose, she always fight them, so that is why she is loose. She is a game hen of some sort.I did have a rooster that I had her paired up with ,but got rid of him, because he was mean as well,,I can`t have a mean rooster, it might go after my girls. We did have guieneas, but got rid of them for the reason of attacking my girls,

I laughted my head off, earlier. My husband had let my chihuahua male, Tux( a blue and white) out and he was running around with a biscuit in his mouth, looking for a place to bury it in the snow.He found a place right behind my car , in the snow, hmmm I wonder if he thinks it will stay buried there after this snow melts.

My another chihuahuas are named princess and trixie.Princess is a fawn colored chihuahua. Her dad was Jake another fawn colored chihuahua, who just disappeared this fall, still haven`t found him,I think he went off somewhere to die, he was very old, didn`t hardly have any teeth. He was crazy over hot dogs.Trixie is a sable colored chihuahua ,Tux is her son.She thinks she is bigger then she really is, which that is the personality of the chihuahua. Both trixie and princess will go after anything, If I am needing to catch a duck or an chicken ,they are both there helping like an cattle dog, and barking up a storm......

It is snowing here about 2 inches so far and still coming down. It didnt start until midnight last night when I got home from work, in which I gave my two week notice to since I finally have a day shift position closer to home yipppeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
I am so glad.My silkies ar laying both pens. One open has 3 red hen and 1 red rooster. The other pen has a splash colored hen and a black rooster. I am so thinking I need more silkies, especiality if they are gonna lay while it is snowing outside.

Youngest daughter is running a temp again, along with a cough this time, If it wasn`t for the cough, I would wonder certain things, that is in the back of my mind, I think it will always be there, each time a temp, especialy if they are not very far apart, each nose bleed.
The oldest is waiting for me to stop blogging so we can make no-bake cookies, So I am goona to go make some no-bake cookies, recipe will be on here later along with banana tea bread, and a nut bread recipe if it turns out.

start

I have made a coffee cake today ,which is from an old recipe book that my mom gave me to type out the recipes out of it. The recipe book came from The Kansas City Kansan recipe booklets that used to be in the paper, yes I am a Kansan lady inplanted to the beautiful ozarks. This recipe that I made today is called Brownie`s Coffee cake that was contributed by Irene Brown , It was from Sunday, May 28,1967.I have not tried it yet ,but I thought the batter was thick.
It is suppose to snow here tonight after midnight.
